Apollo vs ZoomInfo vs Cognism: how to compare B2B data

Evaluate coverage, contact usefulness and total cost against your actual target market. Vendor database-size and accuracy claims are not a substitute for a controlled sample.

Guide revised October 8, 2026. Tool prices and ratings retain their own verification dates below. This is not an independent product-performance test.

Define your target sample

Build a representative list of the account types, regions, company sizes and job functions you sell to. Use the same list and the same date window for each provider.

Agree on what a valid contact means before testing. A technically deliverable address, a person in the correct role and a useful buying contact are different measures.

Measure coverage and quality separately

Report how many target accounts have usable contacts, how recently those contacts were verified and how much manual cleanup is required. Keep unknown values separate from failures.

An overall accuracy percentage can hide poor coverage in the segment that matters to you. Break results down by region and role; show the number of records behind every percentage.

  • Check job changes, duplicate people and outdated companies.
  • Distinguish deliverability from relevance and response quality.
  • Document how opt-outs, suppression and corrections flow through your existing process.

Compare the full commercial terms

Ask for a written quote with seat count, included credits, export allowances, API access, enrichment costs and contract length. A quote-based platform cannot be ranked as cheaper or more expensive using a guessed starting price.

Check whether your team needs a data provider alone or also sequencing and CRM workflows. Test the exact integration and plan you would buy.

Choose from your evidence

Score the factors your team actually values: usable coverage, cleanup effort, workflow fit and total annual cost. Keep product preference separate from measured pilot results.

The catalog entries below contain recorded vendor information and externally sourced ratings. They do not represent an independent head-to-head test.
